I support every phase of the program evaluation cycle, from initial design through final reporting. I lead evaluations with a range of purposes, from supporting program design and iteration to evaluating overall impact.
I help partners articulate the questions that matter most to them and their audiences, then focus and identify the best approaches, methods, and procedures to answer them. This often includes collaborative development of or contribution to a logic model.
I use a diverse set of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods tools, such as focus groups, interviews, qualitative surveys, and field observations. This includes measurement tool development, data management and coordination, thematic analysis, and descriptive and inferential statistics, all aimed at uncovering both successes and opportunities for improvement.
The results are insights my partners can act on. Findings help tell a program's story, illustrate work to funders, support internal decisionmaking, and identify opportunities for organizational growth.
I conduct social sciences research, drawing from the fields of museum studies and the learning sciences.
My evaluations are both rigorous and actionable, positioned to contribute to the broader knowledge base within the science education and out-of-school education fields. I translate evaluation findings into scientific journal publications or future grant proposals for partners who want this support. I also often conduct literature reviews for partners as individual projects or as part of larger initiatives.
I help organizations develop and write winning grant proposals to private and corporate foundations, federal, and local municipality funding sources. Working closely with partner teams, I align grant activities with measurable outcomes. I build evaluation frameworks that deeply align with program activities, tailored to funder and project goals.
I work with institutions with a range of sizes and budgets, and adapt to my partners’ projects and needs.
I do this work in alignment with my values.
